config.com Internet services initially resold dial-up access for the oldest Internet Service Provider (ISP in Ohio. Upon a dispute over withheld commissions on the first thousand accounts, config litigated and became it's own ISP, in 1998 config restructured to provide Internet access to Portage County, Ohio area not being served by the existing ISP's, who were only in the major markets, at the time.. Within a year, we expanded to include circuits local to the Akron, Ohio market and by 2001 became a National Internet Service Provider (ISP). By 2004 config.com Internet services was also providing Internet access in Canada and Puerto Rico.
In 2004, config.com started to provide DSL to help migrate dial-up subscribers toward broadband aDSL. While Internet access has become very competitive, config offers personal support services. We do not outsource our support to foreign labor, which also makes us unique in these days of big American employers using cheap less expensive International labor.
